AP Computer Science A

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for individuals with intermediate to advanced PC skills and is an introductory computer science course that covers the design, development, and debugging of computer programs using the Java programming language. Emphasis will be placed on the study of Java syntax, object-oriented programming, problem solving, and algorithmic development. This course will prepare students for the College Board’s Advanced Placement Computer Science A examination. The course will also focus on the development of general employability skills in PC programming, emphasizing program development and project-management skills highly demanded in today’s workplace.
