Farm to Fork (Spring)

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Preparatory Elective “g” requirement.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Learn about relationships between agriculture, food, science, and nutrition. Basic laws of chemistry, microbiology, and physics are applied to the production, processing, preservation, and packaging of food. Characteristics of food components will be studied, and research and development will be conducted in order to create value-added food products. Students will use their problem solving and experimentation skills will provide application opportunities for the sciences as well as educate the student in a way where they can be an informed consumer of food products.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (“g” credit), students must complete a full year (two semesters) of the course and earn a grade of 70% or better.
