Administration of Justice (AOJ)

APPROVED FOR UC/CSU

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Preparatory Elective ā€œGā€ requirement. To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (ā€œGā€ credit), students must earn a grade of 70% or better.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Learn the history, philosophy, ethics, and structure of the American criminal justice system, and understand the education, training and skills necessary to pursue careers such as police officer, federal agent, correction officer and criminal lawyer. Participate in field trips and hands-on simulations such as fingerprinting and mock trials. Note: Some field trips may take place outside of regular school hours. Participation in f ield trips is optional.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Public Services classes are designed to give students both the theory and hands-on experience in the skills and knowledge required in these fields. Classroom instruction may include real depictions of graphic or violent content. Some topics in the Administration of Justice and Crime Scene Investigation classes may be sensitive to high school students. Lastly, some programs require the submission of personal information, such as DOB and social security numbers, with state agencies and/or clinical internship partners due to licensing and security clearance requirements.
