Careers With Children Internship

APPROVED FOR UC/CSU

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Preparatory Elective ā€œGā€ requirement. To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (ā€œGā€ credit), students must earn a grade of 70% or better.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Explore the field of early childhood education. Focus on child growth and development, health, safety and nutrition, classroom management techniques, and curriculum. After initial classroom instruction, deliver lessons to students while interning at local preschools or child care facilities.

Certification: Meet eligibility requirements to apply for the Child Development Assistant Permit.

Prerequisites: Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students must be responsible for their own transportation to and from the internship site. TB clearance and proof of MMR and DTaP immunizations required for all students prior to placement at an internship site.

COVID-19 NOTICE: Students participating in Coastline ROP internship classes must adhere to the policies and procedures of their assigned site. This may include being vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, and weekly testing.
