Intermediate Video & Film

The following one-year ROP course meets the UC/CSU Visual and Performing Arts “f” requirement.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Build upon skills needed for careers in the video, broadcast, and film production industries.  Experience both the creative and technical aspects of film making and video production in conjunction with learning about historical and contemporary traditions and conventions.  Explore different aspects of the media and entertainment industry as it relates to potential career selections.  Produce projects including a Public Service Announcement (PSA), music video, broadcast news story, commercial, and short film, using industry-standard equipment and software.  Create a digital portfolio and submit work to a student-created film festival.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

To meet UC/CSU admission requirement (“f” credit), students must complete a full year (two semesters) of the course and earn a grade of 70% or better.

Prerequisite:  Art of TV/Video Production and/or instructor approval.
